Andalucía Equestrian is a growing, collaborative project based in the heart of Coín, Málaga. While the stables are managed day-to-day by Pedro Fernández, an experienced local horseman, the project itself is powered by a wider community of equestrian professionals, volunteers, and passionate contributors.
We operate as a collective model, where gifted individuals bring their unique expertise to the project, from caring, training, educating, mentoring and guiding to gardening, DIY/ maintenance and online support. Some earn income through their services, others volunteer. We believe in fair energy exchange, mutual respect, and creating a beautiful experience for horses, riders, and visitors alike.
Everyone is here by choice and contributes to the evolving vision of Andalucía Equestrian. We’re committed to continuous improvement, guided by a shared love for horses and the Andalucian countryside.
Pedro Fernandez (Day-to-Day Operations, Horse Trainer, Lead Guide, Spanish Riding Instructor)
Born and raised in Coín, Málaga, and an alumnus of the nearby Colegio de Lourdes, Pedro Fernández is a well-known and respected local horseman — recognised for his warm smile, deep knowledge, and as the go-to person for all things horse-related
Affectionately referred to as “Don Pedro” by some clients, he comes from a long line of traditional Spanish farriers and animal shearers and has been working professionally with horses for over 20 years.
Pedro leads the day-to-day operations at Andalucía Equestrian, offering a wide range of services, including quality horse training and consultancy, horse sales and purchases, livery, riding lessons, horse trekking, and other enriching horse experiences.
Kalle, Ride in Spain (Booking Agent for Andalucía Equestrian)
Kalle, originally from Sweden, has worked with horses for most of his life – his earliest memories include riding bareback on his uncle’s farm. Kalle founded Ride With Me S.L. in 2001, inspired by a lifelong passion for horses and the natural horsemanship methods of Monty Roberts and his followers.
Now semi-retired, Kalle continues to receive strong interest in his treks and has passed the reins to Pedro Fernández, who leads the day-to-day operations at Andalucía Equestrian. Together, Pedro and Kalle carefully mapped out the most beautiful and enjoyable routes in the area—5-star-rated trails that have since been ridden and loved by guests from around the world, from beginners to advanced riders.
David Sanchez (Onsite Farrier, Horse Trainer, Yard Support)
Born and raised on a traditional Andalucian farm in Coín, David is a lifelong horseman and a true embodiment of the Andalusian countryside. He brings a strong, grounded presence to his work, along with exceptional attention to detail, deep knowledge, and years of hands-on experience.
A long-standing member of our team, David is a highly sought-after farrier, often in high demand at local and regional equestrian events, including traditional celebrations such as the Romería.

Vicente (Handyman Angel)
Born and raised in Coín, Vicente is a true man of the Andalusian countryside, bringing decades of hands-on experience, a love of horses, and a deeply rooted work ethic to Andalucía Equestrian. A lifelong friend of Pedro—friends since the age of three—Vicente has been part of the extended family behind the stables for many years.
Highly skilled with tools and practical problem-solving, he regularly steps in with creative solutions that help keep the centre running smoothly. Whether repairing fences, building custom fixtures, or lending a hand where it’s most needed, Vicente works with quiet generosity and a deep sense of care for the horses, riders, and wider community.
We’re lucky to have him as part of the team.
